President: Richard Barsotti, MD

Occupation: Pediatrician for Metro Pediatrics

Skills: Dr. Barsotti is a well-known pediatrician who comes from a large family. He is passionate about providing adequate health care for expectant mothers and children. On the wall at his practice he has a life-size Dr. Seuss with the saying “A person’s a person no matter how small.” In addition to his healthcare expertise, Dr. Barsotti is helping us computerize our client file and volunteer management. Dr. Barsotti is a native of Portland and did his undergraduate studies at Oregon State University, medical school at Oregon Health & Science University, and pediatric residency training at USC/LA County Medical School. He returned to Portland after three years with the Air Force and has practiced general pediatrics in East County since 1982. He is the father of four and grandfather of seven.


Treasurer: Patrick Duffy

Occupation: President, American Machine & Gear

Skills: Patrick has served on several local boards and brings more than 40 years of business expertise (he owns his own business), financial acumen, and connections with the local health and fitness community. He is very active in his parish (St. Pius X), and is the current president of Legatus, an organization of Catholic leaders of large businesses. He is a world-known soccer and track official. He is also the past Board Chair.

Director: Rev. Martin A. Shrout

Occupation: Minister, Church of God

Skills: Pastor Shrout cares deeply about providing women with the right start during their pregnancy and as mothers. He teaches a parenting class “Love & Logic,” and donates space to MCEC for use for special events and meetings. He is a father and musician.


Director: Kristin Russo

Occupation: Senior Specialist for EVER Skin

(Previously an Account Director for Razorfish a digital marketing agency).

Skills: Prior to staying home with her two children, Kristin worked in the advertising and marketing field with major accounts in New York, Seattle and Portland. Her primary focus as a board member is on branding and marketing to help create consistent messaging, presentation materials and videos. Kristin has many friends in the industry willing to help at-cost or pro-bono. Kristin is a mother of two and has strong roots in the Portland area. A fun Portland fact, Kristen was Rose Festival Queen in 1996, née Kristen Waldrum. Russo joined the Board in October 2014.


Director: Jenni Jayne

Occupation: Senior Brand & Marketing Manager, Propeller

Skills: With clientele such as Wine.com, JELD-WEN, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Target, Xbox, Office, MSN, and Bing to name a few; Jenni brings a multitude of experience and skill in marketing, communications, and brand. Jenni’s goals at MCEC are to build an impactful marketing & communications program and to serve others in the community.Jayne joined the Board in 2017.


Director: Ayo Babatunde

Occupation: Registered Nurse in Pediatric Primary Care

Ayo's previous work experience includes work as a registered nurse in women's health and pediatrics.She also has experience working on communications, project management and program development (project management and program development were both in a clinic setting). Ayo has a strong interest in empowering women and parents through education. Babatunde joined the Board in 2020.


Secretary: Judith Marvin, MD, Providence

Occupation: Senior Medical Director of Women's Specialty Practices, Providence

Dr. Judy Marvin is an obstetrician and the Senior Medical Director for Women’s Specialty Practices for Providence Health and Services in the Oregon region. She also serves on the CareOregon credentialing committee and has previously worked for UnitedHealthcare and Providence Health Plans. Dr Marvin has over 30 years of experience in healthcare including as a nurse, a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist and in physician leadership roles. She has led safety initiatives including adoption of Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Perinatal Induction and Augmentation Bundles with reduction of early induction of labor. She also led a hospital-wide clinical team training focused on communication techniques between physicians and nurses with the goal of ensuring respectful, reliable interactions leading to improved patient care. She was granted a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Washington. She also earned her medical degree and underwent residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Washington. Dr. Marvin serves as the payer representative for the board. Marvin joined the Board in 2018.
